The NAC Have a Heart Foundation is proud to have championed the fight for the “Right to Try” legislation on Capitol Hill. This groundbreaking bill gives terminally ill patients in the U.S. the right to try experimental treatments that have passed Phase 1 of FDA trials and are currently in Phases 2 or 3.
On May 30, 2018, the Right to Try Act—named in honor of ALS patients Trickett Wendler, Jordan McLinn, Frank Mongiello, and Matt Bellina—was officially signed into law by the President of the United States.
A huge thank you to Jim Worthington, founder of the Have a Heart Foundation, owner of the Newtown Athletic Club, Chairman of IHRSA, and a member of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition. His leadership, passion, and relentless advocacy were critical in making this historic legislation a reality. 💪❤️
